Boston Announces Player's Contract Has Been Extended
Providence Bruins GM has recently stated that Joey Abate is here to stay for another two years. This contract extension has pushed the player's future with the team forward, proving himself to have what it takes to fight for his spot in the AHL.
Bruins Sign Joey Abate to One-Year, Two-Way Contract
Abate has 2 goals and 8 assists in 40 games this season. Abate signed his first contract with the Providence Bruins in April of 2022. Fans are wondering if all he'll ever be is a fourth line enforcer, but because of this recent news, it seems as though Providence sees more in him than stagnancy. The team has not given any numbers on his minor league pay, but his salary cap is sitting at $775k.
Abate originally began as a graduate of the University of Nebraska Omaha program before joining Providence.
