Due to his expressive personality on and off the ice, Brad Marchand has become a highly controversial figure in the NHL, and his peers have taken notice.
Keeping Top Spot
In the NHLPA's annual Player Poll, Marchand was once again voted as the player that fellow NHLers would least like to play against, but would most like to have on their team.
Opposing players have a love-hate relationship with Brad Marchand.
The forward can rack up points and get under the skin of his opponents. That's why, for the 2nd straight season, the players would rather have him on their squad than compete against him
He received 36.5% of the votes, while Connor McDavid came in second with 15.6%. The rest of the top five shakes up as such:
3rd - Tom Wilson (8.1%) 4th - Matthew Tkachuk (6.0%) 5th - Victor Hedman (3.9%)
Marchand's physical and mental dominance over opponents has helped him rack up an impressive 20 goals and 42 assists in 62 games for Boston this season.
