A common consequence of having consistently strong playoff teams over several years is a shortage of prospects in the system, and this is true for the Boston Bruins.

Nonetheless, numerous reports suggest that the Bruins are on the verge of signing leading defensive prospect Mason Lohrei in the near future. Lohrei and the Ohio State Buckeyes have just concluded their season, and he is now anticipated to ink his entry-level contract with Boston.

Impressive Second Season

Lohrei, aged 22, has just wrapped up his sophomore NCAA hockey season, which witnessed his rise in the prospect rankings for Boston. The 6'4'', 204 lb defenseman had a remarkable season with OSU, notching 4 goals and 28 assists across 39 games.
He was initially chosen in the second round (58th overall) by the Bruins during the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
