Matthew Tkachuk found himself cast as the Stanley Cup Finals' "bad guy" in the eyes of both Boston Bruins and hockey fans.

The plucky Florida Panthers, who secured a playoff spot by the skin of their teeth, stunned the Bruins in a seven-game first-round playoff series, abruptly ending the Bruins' historic season. Tkachuk played a pivotal role in this upset, contributing throughout Florida's playoff journey, including an assist on the series-clinching goal in Game 7.

While a couple of months have passed since that dramatic showdown, a simmering rivalry has rekindled as the regular season approaches.

During the NHL media tour in Las Vegas, ESPN's Kristen Shilton and Greg Wyshynski interviewed NHL star players, including Tkachuk. When asked about which team he's most eager to watch this season, Tkachuk wasted no time stating the Bruins:

"I'm excited to see what Boston does after their season last year, how they follow that one up."

Notably, after making these comments, Tkachuk also expressed an unexpected excitement about the Bruins' future, where he could possibly consider joining them down the line.
