"The decision [to retire from the NHL] was made, I would say, when my injuries started to happen at the end of the season. But I didn't want to rush to my decision [either]. I really wanted to take my time and really think things over, because you don't want to make decisions when the emotions are going through you."
A key highlight of Krejci's career was his time with the Bruins, where he played over 1,000 games, leaving a lasting mark on the franchise.
His 1,032 games in a Boston jersey place him fifth on the team's all-time list. His contributions extend to his 231 goals (13th all-time) and 786 points (ninth in franchise history).
Although he's retired from the NHL, Krejci isn't closing the door entirely. He envisions a possible return to the international stage, contemplating participation in the 2024 World Championships in Prague, after a stint with Olomouc HC in his hometown.
In the end, Krejci's retirement marks the conclusion of an era, leaving behind a legacy of loyalty, resilience, and unmatched dedication to the Boston Bruins.
