Today, on October 30th, Don Sweeney, the General Manager of the Boston Bruins, officially announced a significant development. The team has secured forward Danton Heinen on a one-year NHL contract, with a cap hit of $775,000.
Heinen, at 28 years old, brings with him the experience of participating in 65 games for the Pittsburgh Penguins during the 2022-23 season. His contributions in these games include eight goals, 14 assists, and a total of 22 points. Heinen, a sturdy 6-foot-2, 195-pound forward, has an extensive NHL career, spanning 413 games, with stints in Pittsburgh, Anaheim, and Boston. Across his career, he has amassed an impressive tally of 70 goals and 106 assists, totaling 176 points.
Originally hailing from Langley, British Columbia, Heinen was drafted by Boston in the fourth round (116th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
