Former Bruins Player Just got Kicked off His Team!

Nick Ritchie, former 10th overall pick of the Anaheim Ducks and former Boston Bruin is unemployed again after pulling himself off his team due to underperformance. Oulun Karpat's roster is now without the former NHL player after a string of bad performances by Ritchie.

The Announcement was made on the team's site today:

"Kärpät cannot offer Ritchie a big enough role in the team for the rest of the season, so he is free to look for a place to play elsewhere. When he came up, we knew he was a high risk / high reward style card that we thought was worth a look. However, he was not able to rise to the role that we would have needed him to play."

Ritchie this year with Oulun Kärpät managed 1 goal and 5 points in 10 games. In 2022-2023 in a season split with the NHL Teams Arizona Coyotes and Calgary Flames, Ritchie had 13 goals and 26 points in 76 games. Throughout his career Ritchie's work ethic has come into question which has led to his departure from the NHL and now the game of hockey overall. This has led also to his status as a draft bust, going from 10trh overall pick to never really developing into the star NHL player that comes with that draft pick. It goes to show, draft status means nothing in the NHL if you're not willing to work!
