The Boston Bruins' post-season run ended earlier than they'd hoped, and the poor performance of Linus Ullmark was one of the factors that contributed to their demise.
However, as fans suspected, it appears that something was ailing the Vezina front runner.
According to NHL insider Kevin Weekes, Ullmark was playing through a «debilitating and painful injury that limited his mobility and technique» during the playoffs. Weekes took to Twitter to share this information:

If Ullmark was indeed playing through a significant injury, it raises questions about the coaching decisions made by Jim Montgomery.
The Bruins had great success rotating between Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman during the regular season, so it's unclear why Ullmark would have been pushed to play through an injury during the playoffs.
Ullmark's stats against the Panthers – 3-3 with a 3.33 GAA and a .896 SV% – were far from impressive.
However, if he was playing hurt, it's possible that his struggles can be attributed to his injury.
While it's still unclear what exactly was ailing Ullmark, the news that he was playing through significant pain is certainly concerning.
Bruins fans will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye on his recovery and hoping that he can return to full health next season.
