It's fair to say that very few NHL fans anticipated the intense rivalry between Jack Edwards and Pat Maroon this season.
Fortunately, the rivalry intensified when Edwards doubled down during the Bruins and Lightning game earlier today.
The Beginning of the Rivalry
As most fans are probably aware, Bruins play-by-play announcer Jack Edwards faced criticism earlier this season for allegedly "fat shaming" Lightning forward Pat Maroon.
While Edwards' somewhat harsh comments were controversial, they did lead to a positive outcome: Maroon raised and donated funds to charity following the incident.
Fast Forward to Today
Even though the two had reportedly reconciled after the incident, Edwards still seems to harbor resentment towards Maroon.
When Patrice Bergeron scored on a power play resulting from Maroon's penalty, Edwards didn't hold back:
"Maroon takes the skate of shame!"
"Have a seat!"
All Bruins just knew that Jack Edwards was eagerly anticipating another opportunity to take a jab at Pat Maroon.
