In a recent call to 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Hardy Show, Montgomery responded to a query about maintaining the Bruins' goalie rotation in the postseason. The head coach of the Bruins commented,

"Absolutely, there's no reason not to. It's important to learn from previous experiences. Last year, I erred by not implementing this in the playoffs. As an organization, we thoroughly assess every aspect."

During the previous season's playoff series against the Florida Panthers, Montgomery notably ceased the goalie rotation, choosing to rely solely on Vezina Trophy recipient Linus Ullmark for the team's initial six games. This decision backfired as the acclaimed goalie faced significant challenges, managing only a .896 save percentage (SV%). Ultimately, Montgomery's decision to forego the rotation of goalkeepers proved to be a detrimental error, a lesson he acknowledges learning from, as mentioned earlier.
