Following their defeat to the Predators on Tuesday night, Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery clarified the facts surrounding one of his injured players to the media.
In a recent episode of Insider Trading, TSN's Darren Dreger mentioned that forward Taylor Hall was prepared to return from his injury, but the salary cap was preventing him from being activated.
''The problem is, the Bruins don't have the cap space to activate Taylor Hall.'' - Darren Dreger
Scott McLaughlin of WEEI reports that the Bruins coach firmly asserted to journalists after the game that these claims were, in fact, false:
''The only thing I can say is that he is not cleared, so that report to me is false'' - Jim Montgomery
It's logical that these reports would be untrue, as Boston could easily create space for Hall. According to PuckPedia, the Bruins would need to put Derek Forbort (foot) on LTIR, which would leave them with $66,000 in cap space.
