As the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs approach, the Bruins boast impressive depth, leaving Head Coach Jim Montgomery with tough choices for game one.
With the Panthers coming to Boston on Monday, Montgomery will have a full and healthy roster at his disposal, as observed during practice at the Warrior Ice Arena practice.
A.J. Greer, Jakub Lauko, and Jakub Zboril seem to be the more apparent choices to sit out (despite having solid seasons). The real challenge lies in choosing among regulars such as Connor Clifton, Matthew Grzelcyk, Derek Forbort, Trent Frederic, Nick Foligno, and Tomas Nosek.
Based on Saturday's practice lines, it appears that Grzelcyk and Zboril will be the defensemen left out. The forward selection is a bit more complicated, but considering Foligno's injury since late February, he could start the postseason in the press box.
Another crucial decision for Montgomery is determining the lineup positions. The Bruins haven't been at full strength since the Trade Deadline, so it will be fascinating to see what strategy he devises!
