Although selected late in the first round, David Pastrnak has emerged as a top three player from his draft class and is on course to become one of the greatest Bruins ever.
In the recent game against the Hurricanes, Pastrnak achieved several personal milestones by scoring his 50th and 51st goals of the season. Read more about it HERE.
On Track to Surpass Bruins' Legend
Ian McLaren, host of the Locked On Bruins Podcast, highlighted that Pastrnak is steadily approaching Johnny Bucyk, the current all-time leader in goals for the franchise. According to McLaren:
''David Pastrnak is 254 goals behind Johnny Bucyk for the franchise leader in goals. Even if he doesn't score again this seasin, he needs to average 32 goals per season over his new 8-year deal to hit that mark. He's likely going to smash that.''
Thus far, the 26-year-old player has achieved personal bests in goals (51) and points (98), with nine games still left to play this season.
Having scored 291 goals in 583 games, Pastrnak's average stands at 40.9 goals per season over his nine-year tenure with the Boston Bruins. He has now committed to the team for another eight years, making it highly likely that he'll surpass "The Chief" eventually.
