Don Sweeney, the General Manager of the Boston Bruins, delivered a significant update on October 28. The team has taken the decision to place forward Milan Lucic on long-term injured reserve. In response to this move, they have summoned forward Oskar Steen from Providence.

Lucic, at the age of 35, has taken the ice in four games for Boston this season, delivering two assists. Across his extensive NHL career, which includes stints with Boston, Calgary, Edmonton, and Los Angeles, this 6-foot-3, 236-pound forward has participated in 1177 games, contributing an impressive 233 goals and 353 assists, accumulating a total of 586 points. The Vancouver native's journey in the NHL began when he was selected by Boston in the second round (50th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old Oskar Steen has showcased his talent in five games with Providence this season, tallying three goals and two assists for a combined total of five points. Over the course of his 201 AHL appearances, this 5-foot-9, 199-pound forward has marked 44 goals and 61 assists, culminating in 105 points. Steen has also had the opportunity to shine in 26 NHL games, where he contributed three goals and four assists, adding up to seven points. The talented player hails from Karlstad, Sweden, and was originally chosen by Boston in the sixth round (165th overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
