The Bruins will take on the Islanders this Friday as part of a consecutive set of games against New York teams.

Following an overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils at Prudential Center on Wednesday, Boston heads into this match. Pavel Zacha and Charlie McAvoy have been placed on injured reserve by the Bruins, necessitating a collective effort from the team in their absence. Matthew Poitras will not participate on Friday, being benched alongside Patrick Brown and Parker Wotherspoon, both of whom were called up from Providence on Thursday. Coach Jim Montgomery mentioned that the rookie center will have scheduled rest days throughout the season, and this aligns with that plan.
Jesper Boqvist, recently brought up from Providence, will join the third line alongside Trent Frederic and James van Riemsdyk. Danton Heinen will shift to Morgan Geekie's line, partnering with David Pastrnak. Charlie Coyle will take the center position on the second line, flanked by Brad Marchand and Jake DeBrusk.
The game will start at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time at UBS Arena, and comprehensive coverage of the event will be available on NESN. Tune in for the pregame show starting at 6:30 p.m.
