The Bruins' latest reunion with Torey Krug took place today, and the defender couldn't help but poke fun at his close friend and former teammate, Brad Marchand.
Krug began his NHL career with the Bruins in 2012 when he signed as an undrafted free agent from Michigan State University, and over nine years, he established several strong friendships.
Krug's closest connection was - and possibly is still - with Marchand, as both players started their careers around the same time. Before Sunday's game, the Blues' defenseman was asked if their friendships are put on hold during games.
The Bruins and Blues delivered an exhilarating game on Sunday, with Boston emerging victorious in a 4-3 shootout, and although Marchand left with team bragging rights, Krug outperformed him personally.
Krug finished with 1 goal, 5 shots, and a +2 rating in 22:49 of ice time, while Marchand had a -1 rating, 2 SOG, and 20:46 TOI.
