If there's one player who's tailor-made for the intensity of playoff hockey, specifically Boston Bruins playoff hockey, it's Tyler Bertuzzi and his performance in Game 1 against the Panthers proved just that.
In Monday night's game, Bertuzzi made his first-ever postseason appearance in his seven-year career and certainly left a mark. The 28-year-old finished his NHL playoff debut with two assists, three shots, two hits, and two blocks.
It shouldn't come as a shock, though, as Bertuzzi's last playoff stint saw him leading the Grand Rapids Griffins to a Calder Cup Championship in the AHL. Earning the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy as the postseason MVP, he notched 19 points in 19 games.
However, Bertuzzi humbly attributed his stellar performance to the passionate Bruins fans present during Game 1, saying it felt like his team debut all over again. Catch his postgame interview here:
