Boston Bruins score big with breakout forward signing
The Bruins signed Morgan Geekie last off-season to a 2 year $4 million contract which seems like one of the best contract we have seen in recent years.
Geekie ended up surpassing expectations this season as he hit career high in all scoring categories with 17 goals, 22 assists and 39 points in 76 games.
Geekie, 25, broke out for the Bruins last season, setting new career highs with 17 goals, 22 assists, and 39 points in 76 games. With numbers like these, the Strathclair, Manitoba native proved that he can be a solid secondary scorer and impactful middle-six forward.
Now that winger Jake DeBrusk is not returning, the Bruins will likely give an even bigger role to Geekie this season. If Geekie can raise his production once again this season, he is surely in for a nice payday next off-season.
