Bruins announce injury update regarding Matt Poitras

Bruins forward Matt Poitras had a shortened rookie season after needing shoulder surgery but has been making steady progress as he is back on the ice.
Poitras took part in the Bruins development camp this week but fans were quick to notice he was not on the ice Thursday which began a lot of speculation. The Bruins released a statement saying that they kept him off the ice for precautionary reasons and that he is still on the right path in his recovery.
«The pros and cons of playing today, we just decided to keep him off. He's on the right track,» player development coordinator Adam McQuaid said, per team provided video. «There were no setbacks or anything like that. We knew coming in that we were going to try to stay away from the contact.»
While this might have been worrying at first, fans should expect to see Poitras ready to go for training camp and will likely be on the Bruins roster to start the season.
