The Bruins have quite a few areas they will need to drastically improve at this summer but there are 3 that stound out above the rest.

The first is they will need to improve at the center position as they have been missing a true number 1 since Bergeron left. Pavel Zacha and Charlie Coyle had great seasons but if they want to have a better season next year they need to look for a top centremen.

The Bruins have struggled with speed in recent years as they have had many great players on their teams but never a truly dominant skater. Last season the team ranked in the 37th percentile for speed across the league.

Neely wants to get faster and wants more players that win 50-50 battles. «You have to want the puck.»

The last keep part they will need to focus on once free agency opens up is offensive defenseman. Charlie McAvoy can be great in the O-zone and Mason Lohrei shows promise but they need to find someone would is a true offensive defenseman that can help out their powerplay. The only truly offensive defenseman they had last season was Kevin Shattenkirk who is well past his prime and will not be returning next year.
