The Bruins have multiple defensemen leaving on July 1st as their contract are expering such as Kevin Shattenkirk, matt Grzelcyk and Derek Forbort.
It looks like the Bruins could be interested in signing free agent defenseman Joel Edmunsson. GM Don Sweeney was reportedly interested in trading for Edmunsson at the deadline but a deal did not end up materializing.
Since Sweeney had interest in Edmunsson once already, there is a good chance the Bruins make him an offer this off-season.
Edmunsson had 1 goal, 6 assists, 80 hits and 65 blocked shots this season between the Capitals and Leafs. He is exactly the stay at home defenseman the Bruins are looking to add for next season.
