Danton Heinen is one of the free agency prospects for the Bruins this NHL season and the Bruins have major news.
The Bruins are keeping the door open for Heinen and it seems that after a productive trail with the team not only is Heinen due for a raise with the team but he has also found favor with Bruins management that could potentially land him a contract with Boston.
"Heinen, 28, proved to be a solid offensive producer for the Bruins this year, posting 17 goals, 36 points, and a plus-17 rating in 74 games. Due to his contributions, the 2014 fourth-round pick even got plenty of time in the Bruins' top six."-Michael Derosa
After such a triumphant last season, Heinen is hopeful of what his future with Boston might look like next season. Heinen managed to beat the minimum requirements the league was expecting and has also managed to fit in nicely with his fellow teammates.
With his rapid progress during the offseason, it shouldn't take long to see a deal extended to the player soon.
"The Bruins are expected to start discussing a potential new deal with Heinen this week." -David Pagnotta
Should the Bruins decide to resign Heinen he will proceed to add value to the team in there middle six and continue to grow as a player in Boston. The Bruins have until July 1 to extend an offer.
