All Bruins fans are aware that Linus Ullmark has been outplaying Jeremy Swayman lately and especially since the deadline.
Last game against the Flyers, it was the first time since the March 8th deadline that Ullmark let in 3 goals. His record prior to that game against the Flyers was 3-0-1 and in those 4 games only allowed a total on 6 goals.
On the other hand, Swayman has been struggling since the deadline with a 1-2 record and a terrible 4.00 goals against average with a .848 save percentage.
Ullmark had allowed a total of six goals in his previous four games, going 3-0-1 before the desperate Flyers got two third-period goals to beat the Bruins on Saturday. By contrast – admittedly a small sample – Swayman since the trade deadline: 1-2, 4.00 GAA, .848 save pct.
There is still a few weeks left before the playoffs arrive but Swayman will have to turn things around if he wants the net for game 1.
