Jim Montgomery made a critical statement regarding forward Johnny Beecher today, which comes at a crucial time where everyone on the fourth line is battling for a spot.
Montgomery praised how Beecher has been on faceoffs and also commented on how great he has been at both ends of the ice.
Coach Montgomery on Johnny Beecher: "He's been really good on face-offs all year...more importantly, it's how hard he played at both goal lines, hanging on to pucks, creating turnovers, had a great backcheck. That's what we want. We want players fighting to stay in the lineup."
Beecher is playing well at a crucial time not only because the playoffs are around the corner but also because Pat Maroon will be healthy soon meaning someone will be popping out of the lineup.
