It's not uncommon during the dog days of the NHL season when teams that have been at the top of the standings for long periods of time begin to slip and falter as the seasonal grind begins to chip away at their game as they try to continue to play meaningful hockey with their playoffs locked up.

Over the past six games, the Bruins have been in six consecutive overtimes. Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery spoke to the media after his practice revealing the issues that are plaguing the team and how they're trying to address them.

His big focus today was explaining how to closeout games on a more consistent basis. It seems that small mistakes our beginning to widen and has started to plague the team. The Bruins are currently battling the Florida Panthers for first overall in the Atlantic division. Both teams hold 82 points and the Bruins have been on a three-game losing streak
As the trade deadline nears, Boston fans and the rest of the team we'll need to wait and see what Don Sweeney will do to help bolster this roster which could also help close their games. A defenseman is on their priority list according to Bruins president Cam Neely.

The Bruins will be at home to face off against the Vegas golden Knights on Thursday Feb 29th. Game time will be on at 7:00 PM eastern.
