Ahead of tonight's big matchup, Bruins Head coach Jim Montgomery spoke to the media regarding forward Johnny Beecher.
Montgomery said that they sent Beecher down halfway through the year because they felt that he needed to work on his intensity and 1on1 battles which he did because the Bruins felt he came back up later in the year with a big improvement. He also added that Beecher's skill at the faceoff dot and on the penalty kill are some aspects that the team values immensely.
Montgomery on #NHLBruins Beecher's development:
"Intensity, 1-on-1 battles. That was an area we felt he needed to go down and focus on. It's an area that's drastically improved. His face-offs, his penalty killing has always been something that we really value."
