Sheldon Keefe making excuses for game 1 loss

Published April 21, 2024 at 9:14

The Bruins took down the Leafs last night in a convincing 5-1 at TD Garden, after the game Sheldon Keefe spoke to the media handing them a few excuses as to why they lost.

Keefe mentioned in the interview that they didn't play well without Nylander and that calls did not go their way while also having defensive zone breakdowns.

Keefe on Toronto missing Nylander:

«We didn't handle it very well tonight. Certainly missed him.»

Added that Nylander's absence didn't change that the Leafs were knocked for bad penalties and D-zone breakdowns.

Clearly when you allow 5 goals and only score 1, there may be a lot bigger issues at hand than missing 1 player.

This could be a short series if the Bruins can continue to dominate as they did in game 1.
