General manager Don Sweeney along with his staff are doing their due diligence and looking through the league to add some more sandpaper and toughness to the Bruins lineup prior to this year's trade deadline.
After the loss of Milan Lucic due to personal issues, the team needs to return to its tougher style especially on their bottom 6 as that was a key ingredient to their success in years past.
"There's the physical part of the game that we're lacking at times, "Sweeney said. "Maybe we'd like to try and address that. We've tried to use our depth throughout the organization. A lot of guys have done a tremendous job in that regard, but we may have to look to the outside to find some."
Adding these kinds of players do not necessarily cost the team of fortune in terms of draft picks or prospects however, the team will need to fork up a little bit of capital to acquire players like Nick Dowd, Matt Dumba and Anthony Mantha.
But these kind of players will give you the grit and sandpaper you need along with some scoring ability to help the team when they reach those tough times during a playoff round.
