Connor Bedard bill be the youngest captain in NHL history

Rumors are buzzing around the league that Connor Bedard could be the next captain of the Chicago Blackhawks as soon as this season. If named, he will be the youngest captain in NHL history.

The league is moving in a direction that names players captain at younger ages, we saw this with Gabriel Landeskog and the Avalanche, Nick Suzuki with the Canadiens and Sidney Crosby with the Penguins.

Bedard only turned 19 on July 17th, which means he would be the youngest captain by a long shot. Landeskog was named captain of Colorado when he was 19 and 286 days old.

Bedard had a marvelous rookie season, winning the Calder Trophy by scoring 22 goals and 39 assists for 61 points in 68 games.
