A new controversy emerges out of the New York Islanders as Anthony Duclair is forced to cut his long hair and beard by GM Lou Lameriello.
As you can see fans are quite outraged by the photo released by Duclair saying that The Islanders and Lamoriello are way behind the times and there is no place in hockey for these type of bogus rules. There should be some personality and identity in the NHL and Lamoriello does vetting in his power to take it away.
Lamoriello has enforced this same rule where ever he was in charge. He did it with the New Jersey Devils and Toronto Maple Leafs.
This is not the first time he publicly forced players to adapt to the team rules. When Kyle Palmieri was traded to the Devils in 2021 and he was forced to gut his long bear and hair as well.
In my opinion, a rule like this is so unnecessary in today's game, it is a wield of power that just has no merit and affects absolutely no one but Lamoriello's personal biases.
Do you think this team rule by Lou Lamoriello is ridiculous?
