Fights in the NHL is not abnormal, however the fight in tonight's Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers game, most would have not expected. In tonight's game, we got to see 5'9" Brad Marchand fight 6'4" Panthers' defenseman Niko Mikkola.
Prior to the fight, Panthers' defenseman Niko Mikkola crosschecks Brad Marchand away from the play, this appeared to frustrate Marchand as he crosschecks Mikkola back.
However, right after this, Marchand threw a punch and then the fight ensued. Marchand was clearly not intimidated by Mikkola size and he seemed to hold is own even being shorter by more than 6 inches. Which is a good thing, if he is going to defend himself and his teammates no matter who the opponent is.
