Former NHL defenseman Nathan Beaulieu is currently playing over sees for the Barys Astana in the KHL and is already showing the fans his fighting capabilities.
Beaulieu played 11 seasons in the NHL before heading to Russia to continue his professional hockey career in the KHL. He was never known to be the biggest tough guy and fighter when playing in North America but definitely can hold his own against the best of them.
In a KHL pre-season game, Beaulieu got tangled up with goon Mark Verba and went toe to toe until Beaulieu put him to sleep. In the video, you can see Verba get dropped and when he stands back up he is clearly dazed and concussed.
Beaulieu last played with in the NHL with the Anaheim Ducks during the 2022-2023 season but after being sent down to the AHL 3/4 into the season, he signed with overseas in Switzerland with Kloten HC.
This will be his first season apart of the KHL and it will be interested to see him compete and maybe find his way back to the NHL.
