The entire hockey community has been grieving the death of Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau which took the world by shock a few days ago with the tragic news.
Since their heartbreaking death, the Blue Jackets and NHLPA have stepped up in a major way announcing this morning that they will be teaming up to offer grief counselors to any players, coach or staff member of the Blue Jackets .
The Blue Jackets and the #NHLPA have made grief counselors available to any #CBJ player, coach or staffer who wants to talk about the devastating loss of teammate Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew.
Not a surprise, given each entity's reputation, but an important step.
This is a great move by the Blue Jackets and the NHLPA as this situation is beyond difficult and with mental health being a much more open topic these days, it is important for those affected to be able to talk about it.
