It's been a long tough season for former Bruins star winger Tyler Bertuzzi as he had struggled through the first half of the season trying to find his legs and his ability to put the puck in the net. Many Maple Leafs fans were elated when they heard the general manager Brad Treliving landed Bertuzzi as he signed a one-year deal worth $5 million.
Bertuzzi, has looked comfortable alongside Auston Matthews in the past several games and has nine points in his last 11. Matthews himself also has commented on what Bertuzzi has brought to his line and that he may stay there for a long period of time including the remainder of the season.
Does his newfound form pose a threat to the Bruins playoffs? Doubtful. The Bruins continue to seesaw against the Florida Panthers for first overall in the Atlantic. With the Maple Leafs far behind at 85 points through 66 games while holding three games in hand advantage it's likely that this match up will be decided on Game 82 of the season.
