The Arizona Coyotes relocating to Utah as the players were told on Friday, confirmed by Emily Kaplan. Prior to the Coyotes game against the Edmonton Oliers, the Coyotes general manager Bill Armstrong met with the team and told them that the team will be sold to the current owners of the NBA team the Utah Jazz, Ryan and Ashley Smith.

Arizona Coyotes players have been told the team is moving to Utah, according to @FriedgeHNIC
An announcement of this relocation is expected next week when the regular season ends. The Coyotes will move to Utah next year and will play at the Utah Jazz home arena, the Delta Center. Coyotes' owner Alex Meruelo has been trying to find a new home for the Coyotes, but the NHL decided that they needed to have a better solution. The Coyotes moved to Arizona in 1996 as they were Winnipeg Jets prior. The NHL did not rule out to have a team in the future in Arizona again and Alex Meruelo could potentially own that team.
