The Boston Bruins and Winnipeg Jets agreed on a trade that sent Jim Vesey to the Boston Bruins and in exchange the Winnipeg Jets gained future considerations.

After the Boston Bruins acquisition of Vesey in 1991. The results were that he played 4 games for the team in 1991-92, and then spend the rest of his career in the minors.

During the 1992-93 season Vesey went on to score 38 goals 39 assists for 77 points in 71 games with the Providence Bruins including the first goal in franchise history.
