Earlier today, Providence Bruins have officially announced the signing of goaltender Ryan Bischel for a one-year contract.

The 24-year-old Minnesota native has a couple of achievements under his belt, as he was crowned the Big Ten's Goaltender of the year where he lead the nation in saves.

"The fifth-year goaltender for Notre Dame won Goaltender of the Year (B1G) and followed that up with a 2.58 GAA and .924 SV% this year. At 6-foot-1, 190lbs, Bischel isn't exactly big in the net, but he's athletic and technical. Boston continues its reign of goaltending talent."

Standing at 6'1", Bischel previously played for the University of Notre-Dame throughout five consecutive seasons. His last season played for the team had him in nets for 36 games, where his goals against average was 2.58 and his save percentage was .924. Bischer ended that season with a total of 3 shutouts.

Bischer seemed to show his worth to the Bruins, while the question remains; Will he prove his one-year contract with Providence to be worthy?
