On September 5th, there was a notable development as Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney officially announced the signing of forward Danton Heinen to a professional tryout agreement.

Heinen, who began his journey with the Bruins, has now reached the age of 28. During his time with the team, he left a mark by contributing 34 goals and 69 assists over the span of 220 games. Standing at a height of 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 188 pounds, the forward achieved a personal best of 47 points during his rookie season in 2017-18.
Following his tenure in Boston, Heinen had stints with the Anaheim Ducks for part of the 2019-20 season and the entire 2020-21 campaign. He later joined the Pittsburgh Penguins for the last two seasons. Accumulating a combined experience of 413 NHL games, Heinen boasts an impressive track record of 70 goals and 106 assists, resulting in a total of 176 points.
Hailing from Langley, British Columbia, Heinen was originally selected by the Bruins as the 116th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
