Matthew Tkachuk Throws Shade At Bruins For Early Playoff Exit

Matthew Tkachuk has solidified his status as the arch-nemesis for Bruins fans, a reputation he seems in no hurry to shed.

During the Stanley Cup playoffs' first round, the eighth-seeded Florida Panthers stunned the Bruins, prematurely ending Boston's historic season. Tkachuk played a pivotal role, both on and off the ice, including contributing an assist on the overtime game-winner in Game 7.

As a new season approaches, ESPN's Kristen Shilton and Greg Wyshynski caught up with star players during the NHL media tour in Las Vegas, and Tkachuk didn't miss the opportunity to take a playful jab at the Bruins:

"I'm excited to see what Boston does after their season last year, how they follow that one up."

While the tone of Tkachuk's comment may not be fully conveyed in writing, Panthers and Bruins fans certainly perceived it as a cheeky dig at Boston.

Bruins standout Charlie McAvoy also participated in the ESPN poll, sharing his excitement for the upcoming season and suggesting an NHL rule he'd like to see added.

Boston's first showdown with Florida is scheduled for October 30 at TD Garden, and it wouldn't be surprising if Tkachuk's presence ignites an animated response from Bruins fans.
