A Bruins fan on Twitter with the username @BruinsWyan highlighted that the Boston team has been outstanding when competing against other Eastern Conference playoff contenders:

With captain Patrice Bergeron at the helm, the team has repeatedly demonstrated their ability to excel when it counts.

Out of the Bruins' 17 total losses, seven have been against the Western Conference, and five have been against Eastern Conference teams not currently in the playoff race.

A slight concern is that the only teams to defeat Boston twice this season are the Ottawa Senators and Florida Panthers. Both teams are battling for the second Wild Card position, which would pit them against the Bruins in the first round.
