The Boston Bruins have made a recent addition to their coaching team, hiring John McLean. It's worth noting that this John McLean, hailing from Wakefield, MA, is not the former New Jersey Devils player and head coach. Instead, he brings experience from coaching high school hockey, with previous roles at Malden Catholic and Austin Prep.
Additionally, he is a co-founder of Dynamic Skating, a venture established in 2010 alongside skating consultant Tom Ford and former Bruins Skills and Skating Coach Kim Brandvold.
McLean takes over the position previously held by John Gruden, who departed to become the head coach of the Toronto Marlies, the AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs. In his new role, McLean will offer a strategic viewpoint for head coach Jim Montgomery and assistants Chris Kelly and Joe Sacco from the bench.
