The Bruins signed Kevin Shattenkirk this past off-season to a one year $1.35 million contract which he has been proving all season long is a bargain for the team.
In last night's game against the Capitals, Shattenkirk scored the game winner in shootout to give the Bruins a 3-2 win.
Shattenkirk has been having a great season with 22 points in 57 games which is solid for a 35 year-old depth defenseman. There is also the fact that Shattenkirk is a great veteran to have in the locker room as he has played over 15 years in the NHL and has a Stanley Cup ring with his name on it.
It will be interesting to see if the Bruins look to re-sign the veteran defenseman this summer.
