Bruins GM Don Sweeney announces the signing of Jaxon Nelson

Earlier today, Bruins GM Don Sweeney has officially announced the addition of Jaxon Nelson to Boston's roster. He has been brought in with a cap of $870 000, for a one year contract.

Here is what Sweeney had to say about the up-and-coming player Jaxon Nelson: «Jaxon is a big, right shot, two-way center with leadership qualities as captain of a very successful collegiate program. He has shown consistent growth throughout his time at the University of Minnesota and the Bruins are excited to have Jaxon join our organization.»

Jaxon Nelson is a talented forward playing for the University of Minnesota. Known for his speed, agility, and scoring ability, Nelson has been a key contributor to the team's success. His offensive prowess and knack for finding the back of the net make him a threat to opposing defenses every time he takes the ice. Nelson's skill set extends beyond scoring goals, as he also possesses playmaking abilities and a strong two-way game, making him a well-rounded player.

Jaxon Nelson has been on the ice alongside the University of Minnesota since 2019. The right-handed center put up 19 goals and 12 assists across 39 games in the 2023-2024 season for Minnesota. Catching the eyes of scouts throughout the NHL, it is with excitement that the Bruins locked him in after witnessing his consistent contribution to his team. He will be playing for Providence for the remainder of the current season under an ATO.
