Bruins management on thin ice if last year's playoffs repeats itself

The Bruins will have to have a solid playoff run if GM Don Sweeney and head coach Jim Montgomery want to keep their jobs.

According to NHL insiders, Sweeney and Montgomery should keep their jobs regardless or this year's outcome as they want to give them a shot at rebuilding with the $21.7 million in cap space they will have this summer.

However, if they have another first round exit, Montgomery and Sweeney will be skating on very thin ice.

Bruins management has done a phenomenal job during the season but has struggled to get the team going during the playoffs in recent years. The last time the Bruins went far was in 2018 when they lost in the cup finals but since then they have failed to make it past the 2nd round.

Hopefully the Bruins will go on a run this year which will secure a lot of jobs for at least the next two years throughout the organization.
