The Bruins struggled last off-season as GM Don Sweeney did not have a lot of cap room to go and sign players in free agency.
This summer will look to be much different as the Bruins have multiple players with contracts coming to an end which will clear up $21.7 million in cap space.
Bruins fans may be saying goodbye to Jake DeBrusk, James van Riemsdyk, Milan Lucic, Pat Maroon, Danton Heinen, Matt Grzelcyk, Kevin Shattenkirk, and Derek Forbort as they are all set to become free agents. Some may be re-signed depending on the price but it is likely that the majority end up somewhere else.
There is also the possibility of an additional $5 million being cleared if Sweeney does decide to move Linus Ullmark.
With all this cap space, the Bruins will be able to go after some of the top free agents this summer such as Noah Hanifin and Elias Lindholm.
