Pat Maroon debuted for Boston roughly a month after being traded from the Minnesota Wild before the deadline.

Saturday turned out to be a productive evening for the Bruins.

Boston successfully held off a determined Penguins squad in Pittsburgh, where Sidney Crosby and his team are battling for one of the final playoff berths in the Eastern Conference. Alongside securing a 6-4 victory and remaining in contention for the top seed in the East, the Bruins also had the opportunity to integrate one of their newest additions onto the ice. The seasoned enforcer saw 13:16 of ice time, delivered four hits, and registered a shot on goal.

Following the match at PPG Paints Arena, head coach Jim Montgomery evaluated Maroon's inaugural game with the Black and Gold.

"I thought he was very effective for us," Montgomery said to reporters, per The Athletic. "Managed the game really well. You can see why he's won a lot. Because of the way he manages the game. Changes at the right time. Putting pucks to good areas. I thought him, Boqvist and Lauko together were good."
