There have been rumors around the Canucks and Phil Kessel coming to a contract agreement after the 36-year-old was seen practicing with the Canucks affiliate in the AHL.

It is now official that Phil Kessel will not be making an NHL return, the Canucks had until the deadline yesterday to sign Kessel which they never ended up doing.

Canucks are done. Not signing Phil Kessel.

If this truly ends up being the last we have seen of Kessel in the NHL, it has truly been an incredible career. He has won 3 Stanley Cups, played in 1,286 games while putting up 992 points; he has hit the 20-goal mark 12 times in his career and has put up more than 50 points in a season 12 times as well.
