The Bruins take on the Leafs for game 7 tonight in Boston and they announced the officiating crew last night which did not include Wes McCauley.

McCauley was the standby referee for game 6 between the Predators and Canucks last night which is why he will not be able to officiate game 7.

CONFIRMED: Referee Wes McCauley will NOT be officiating tomorrow's Game 7 between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Boston Bruins. He's on standby in Nashville tonight. @NHLBruins @MapleLeafs

The NHL always has a standby official as a fifth referee during each playoff game just in case something happens to one of the referees on the ice.

Leaf fans have been over the moon since hearing they news as they believe McCauley often calls against the Leafs.
