After Going through a grueling arbitration process last summer, Jeremy Swayman vowed he would never do it again, which is why he has elected to go opt-out and go in another direction.

Swayman elected not to file for arbitration. The team has until 5pm tomorrow to file. The team would still have negotiating rights with Swayman and can come to an agreement to avoid a hearing. #NHLBruins #GetBent

GM Don Sweeney has stated that signing to Swayman has been his number one priority this offseason, but with the lack of progression in signing a deal, it looks like those comments are just empty ones.

The 25-year-old has decided to not go back to arbitration, which means that him and the Bruins are likely going to sign a deal, though, the time-table for it is still unknown.

Even though Swayman split time with Vezina winning goaltender Linus Ullmark, in 44 games, he had a .916 save percentage with a 2.53 goals-against average, proving he is an elite goalie in the NHL.

It is a waiting game at this point, but other teams still have the chance to send qualifying offers to the new number 1 Bruins netminder.
