On a recent appearance on Les amateurs de sports on 98.5 FM, Roy confirmed he's been in talks and interviews with NHL teams. He said, "I've had calls, and I've had interviews with certain teams," noting these discussions are going well.
After leading the Quebec Remparts to a Memorial Cup win, Roy stepped back as GM and Coach. At a golf tournament hosted by Serge Savard, he hinted at looking for new opportunities.
After his NHL career, Roy coached the Remparts in the QJMHL. Reflecting on his 2023 Memorial Cup win, he said, "In life, you must be able to leave at the right time. Today, I can leave my positions and say, 'Mission accomplished.'"
Roy coached the Colorado Avalanche from 2013 to 2016. After returning to the Remparts from 2018-2019, he's now keeping options open for an NHL return. While the Ottawa Senators have been mentioned, nothing's confirmed. The NHL waits to see if Roy's potential return could shake up the coaching scene.
